Google Rolls Out Agentic Defense Following $32 Billion Wiz Acquisition

Google has launched Agentic Defense, a new security capability for its cloud platform, after acquiring Wiz for $32 billion. The move signals Google’s commitment to strengthening cloud security against sophisticated cyber threats targeting AI systems.

Agentic Defense automates threat detection and response through AI-powered security agents. Rather than relying on manual monitoring or static rules, the platform continuously scans cloud environments, detects suspicious behavior, and responds to threats in real time. This reduces both security risks and the burden on cybersecurity teams.

A core strength lies in defending against AI-driven attacks. As criminals increasingly weaponize generative AI and machine learning, Agentic Defense identifies unusual AI activity, detects malicious prompts, and prevents exploitation of AI models and cloud applications.

Wiz’s cloud-native security expertise will enhance Google’s overall security ecosystem. By combining Wiz’s capabilities with Google’s AI technologies, the company aims to deliver a more comprehensive platform for businesses migrating workloads to the cloud.
